A sad reality is that 50% of divorces in the United States result, in part, from domestic violence. As mediators, we must prepare ourselves to handle such cases when they are referred to mediation.

In the two day DMA Domestic Violence Mediation Training, you will explore the dynamics of domestic violence and how it affects the mediation process. You will learn how to screen for domestic violence, use specialized domestic violence processes during the mediation, and ensure safety before, during, and post-mediation as well as practice your skills with comprehensive real-play exercises.

Classes held June 7-8, and November 15-16.

Law for Non-Lawyers

As mediation continues to grow in scope and use in resolving conflict, the field is becoming more and more open to non-attorney mediators. To accommodate these non-attorney professionals, DMA now offers the one day class: Law for Non-Lawyers. This class will teach you key aspects of the law including it's history, roles, and practices. You will also learn the implications the law has on mediation and conflict resolution in general.

Classes held: March 19, June 18, September 17, and November 5.
